Volleyball Recap: Sterling's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Sterling and Alamosa squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sterling had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Mean Moose. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Karsyn Tonche paced Sterling's offense, picking up 19 kills. Tonche got some help from Berkley Gardiner and her 34 assists. Taylor Tonche controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Alamosa found their leader in sophomore Leela Gutierrez, who had 11 digs.

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Alamosa, the victory (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 25-1.

Sterling didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Centauri on the 14th. As for Alamosa, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Village on the 14th.
