While Portales's victory against Texico wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wolverines on Saturday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Portales was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-13, 15-8.

Texico's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Collins, who had nine digs and one assist. Kailie Wieland also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Portales' record is now 13-4. As for Texico, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Portales has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Artesia on the 21st. As for Texico, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Jal on the 21st.
