Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Polk Rams vs. Johnston Dragons

Southeast Polk is 2-8 against Johnston since June of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Southeast Polk's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Johnston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Southeast Polk's last matchup with Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Rams came up short against the Tigers, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Johnston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Urbandale by a score of 6-2 on Monday.

Johnston's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Southeast Polk, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Southeast Polk was able to grind out a solid victory over Johnston in their previous matchup back in June of 2025, winning 5-1. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
