Softball Recap: Auburn Find Success

Auburn's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Kent-Meridian Royals 25-5. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Tanya Declaro made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Declaro was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Rayah Goodfellow-Miller was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Amy Somera, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Auburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.

Auburn's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Kent-Meridian, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn will challenge Kennedy Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Kent-Meridian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bremerton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
