Recap: Russell Red Devils vs. Greenup County Musketeers
The Russell Red Devils lost against the Greenup County Musketeers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Russell received a tough blow as they fell 66-49 to Greenup County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Russell has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Russell saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Rimmer scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Pridemore, who scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Russell and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Greenup County, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Russell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wheelersburg at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. Wheelersburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three games. Greenup County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cabell Midland at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Cabell Midland is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game.
