Preview: Lawrence Academy Warriors vs. Crossroads Christian Colts

Lawrence Academy has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Crossroads Christian Colts at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Even though Lawrence Academy has not done well against Hobgood Charter recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lawrence Academy claimed a resounding 82-47 win over Hobgood Charter at home. 82 seems to be a good number for Lawrence Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Nike Wiggins and Mari Larry were among the main playmakers for Lawrence Academy as the former scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Foster, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Crossroads Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Bradford Academy 94-12 at home. Considering Crossroads Christian has won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Crossroads Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brodrick Jenkins, who scored 15 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Gladieux, who scored 16 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.

Their wins bumped Lawrence Academy to 2-0 and Hobgood Charter to 2-2.

Lawrence Academy couldn't quite finish off Crossroads Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2020 and fell 2-0. Can Lawrence Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
