Basketball Game Preview: West Boca Raton Bulls vs. Spanish River Sharks

After both having extra time off, the West Boca Raton Bulls and the Spanish River Sharks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

West Boca Raton's last matchup with Boca Raton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest last Thursday. The Bulls came up short against the Bobcats, falling 61-37. The Bulls haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

West Boca Raton's defeat came about despite a quality game from Sophia Krefsky, who posted 17 points. The game was Krefsky's third in a row with at least 17 points. Jules Etue was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Spanish River took care of business in their home opener (and then some) last Wednesday. They blew past Coral Glades 56-17.

West Boca Raton better keep an eye on Ellie Neuman. She was instrumental in Spanish River's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Those 23 points gave Neuman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaci Chambers, who put up six points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Boca Raton fell to 2-1. As for Spanish River, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

West Boca Raton suffered a grim 68-45 defeat to Spanish River when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Neuman, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
