Football Game Preview: Leominster Blue Devils vs. St. John's Prep Eagles + Official Tickets

The Leominster Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the St. John's Prep Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Leominster sitting on five straight wins and St. John's Prep on ten (dating back to last season).

Leominster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 42-21 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Osiris Lopez, who threw for 246 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. What's more, he racked up 133 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ben Marchetti, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Leominster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Rivera and Jayden Wilbon.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Framingham to the tune of 38-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Flyers are ranked 148th).

St. John's Prep's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Leominster, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Leominster was dealt a bruising 42-7 defeat at the hands of St. John's Prep in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 36-0.
