Volleyball Recap: Monticello Falls Despite Big Games from Luisa Milantoni-Flores and Savannah Skladzien + How To Watch

After flying high against Orange County on Tuesday, Monticello came back down to earth. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Western Albemarle Warriors on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-13, 25-16.

Monticello's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Skladzien, who had ten digs, three aces, and two blocks, and Luisa Milantoni-Flores, who had eight digs. Skladzien has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times she's played.

Monticello's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Western Albemarle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Albemarle on the 14th. As for Western Albemarle, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Goochland on the 14th.
