Basketball Game Preview: Pueblo West Cyclones vs. Rampart Rams

The Pueblo West Cyclones will head out to face off against the Rampart Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pueblo West is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Liberty just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Rampart hadn't done well against Pine Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rampart secured an 82-78 W over Pine Creek. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Rampart's win came from a few key players Pueblo West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Theodore Wilson, who went 6 for 12 en route to 20 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Elias Bishop was another key player, putting up 19 points and six boards.

Rampart smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Rampart is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Pueblo West, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6.
