La Costa Canyon is 4-0 against Rancho Buena Vista since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The La Costa Canyon Mavericks will head out to face off against the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Rancho Buena Vista is hoping to do what Del Norte couldn't on Friday: put an end to La Costa Canyon's winning streak, which now stands at four games. La Costa Canyon came out on top against Del Norte by a score of 55-45.

Meanwhile, Rancho Buena Vista took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 67-22 victory over Madison. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Warhawks are ranked 708th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Costa Canyon's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Rancho Buena Vista, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Everything went La Costa Canyon's way against Rancho Buena Vista in their previous meeting back in February of 2016, as La Costa Canyon made off with a 65-44 win.
