Softball Recap: Jacksonville Takes a Loss

Jacksonville lost against Munford back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Jacksonville Golden Eagles lost 11-4 to the Munford Lions. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dailyn Wood made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a stolen base, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Barnes, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Munford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Jacksonville will venture away from home to take on Prattville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Munford, they will square off against Ragland at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Munford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
