Recap: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves
The Bella Vista Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 56-37 fall against Woodcreek. Bella Vista has not had much luck with Woodcreek recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Bella Vista had strong showings from Ellie Thome, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Paige Hackman, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and three steals. That was a full 67.6% of Bella Vista's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Woodcreek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Nair, who scored 14 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hillary Steinman, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Bella Vista has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Woodcreek, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bella Vista will challenge Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Inderkum will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Woodcreek, they will head out on the road to face off against River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. River Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 604th, while Woodcreek is ranked 229th).
