Volleyball Recap: South Elgin Takes a Loss

South Elgin lost against Palatine back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Storm took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Elgin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23.

Luka Jovanovic paced South Elgin's offense, picking up ten kills. Jovanovic got some help from Damian Hernandez and his 19 assists. Finally, Hernandez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

South Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Palatine, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Looking ahead, South Elgin will face off against St. Charles North at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Palatine, they will take on Grant Community at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
