Scotts Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Burgos, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Miller, who had seven points.

Scotts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for San Luis Obispo, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Scotts Valley by a score of 70-34 later that day.
