Football Game Preview: Oakville Acorns vs. Naselle Comets

Oakville hasn't had much luck against Naselle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Acorns will be playing at home against the Comets at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Oakville ended up a good deal behind Entiat and lost 22-8.

Oakville might have lost, but man, Lewis Koser was a machine: he rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only eight carries. An impressive showing, but Koser really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles.

Even if they lost, Oakville's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. It was truly a group effort as Koser, Emanuel Torrance, and Lykaios White-Eagle picked up two apiece.

Meanwhile, Naselle faced Ocosta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Comets breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 40-0. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Oakville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Naselle, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Oakville was dealt a bruising 66-0 loss at the hands of Naselle in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Acorns, Jack Strange (who rushed for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
