Basketball Game Preview: Blount Leopards vs. Baker Hornets

The Blount Leopards will head out to challenge the Baker Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baker took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Blount, who comes in off a win.

Blount is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Citronelle 69-13 on Monday. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 29 points or more this season.

Amayah Bracy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 16 on her way to 23 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendaleigh Wesley, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against St. Paul's Episcopal, falling 64-43. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Saints are ranked 41st).

Blount's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Baker, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Blount didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Baker in their previous meeting last Monday, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. Does Blount have another victory up their sleeve, or will Baker turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
