Basketball Recap: Lakeside Lutheran Comes Up Short at Home Against Milton

Lakeside Lutheran unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 76-51 to the Milton Red Hawks on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 72-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Lakeside Lutheran had strong showings from Nadia Murphy, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds, and Alex Moore, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. Murphy is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kara Meske, who scored six points.

Among those leading the charge was Nayeli Kilen, who put up 11 points and seven assists. Mady Vind was another key player, as she made all 6 shots she took for 12 points.

Lakeside Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-49 victory against Mount Horeb on the 20th. As for Milton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-44 defeat against Elkhorn on the 21st.
