Basketball Game Preview: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Boca Ciega Pirates

The Clearwater Tornadoes will take on the Boca Ciega Pirates at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Clearwater came up short against Carrollwood Day and fell 61-50. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boca Ciega). They claimed a resounding 83-41 victory over Northeast. With the Pirates ahead 48-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Boca Ciega's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Clearwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Clearwater was able to grind out a solid victory over Boca Ciega in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 60-49. Will Clearwater repeat their success, or does Boca Ciega have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
