Volleyball Recap: Germantown Academy's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Germantown Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Pennsbury Falcons. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Germantown Academy who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 16-25, 25-24, 23-25, 15-10.

Their offense was headlined by Pilar Presson and Emily Pokorny, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Nicole Ward and her 29 assists. Pokorny was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Germantown Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-6-2. As for Pennsbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Germantown Academy will head out to challenge Academy-Notre Dame De Namur at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pennsbury, they will venture away from home to face off against Council Rock South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
