Basketball Recap: Kenton Beats Van Wert for Their Ninth Straight Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Kenton faced off against Van Wert on Saturday. The Kenton Wildcats strolled past the Van Wert Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 59-41. The Wildcats pushed the score to 51-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maria Bagley, who posted four points. Jazzlyn Florence was another key player, putting up eight points.

The win (which was Kenton's ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. As for Van Wert, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Kenton will venture away from home to challenge Defiance at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Defiance will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kenton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Van Wert, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-18 defeat against Crestview on the 21st.
