Volleyball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Salado Eagles

The Wimberley Texans will take on the Salado Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Wimberley sitting on 31 straight wins and Salado on seven.

Wimberley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Canyon Lake with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Ashton Shipman was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Salado made easy work of Gateway College Preparatory on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted against the Gators since September 20, 2024.

Salado's win bumped their record up to 35-13. As for Wimberley, their victory bumped their record up to 45-5.

Wimberley skirted past Salado 2-1 in their previous meeting back in August. Do the Texans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
