Volleyball Recap: Lake Worth Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lake Worth waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Burkburnett Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Bullfrogs: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Lake Worth was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-101), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 13-25, 15-11.

Breanna Arellano paced Lake Worth's offense, picking up 15 kills. Arellano got some help from Sophia Ayala and her 26 assists. Juliana Martinez and Jasmin Martinez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Lake Worth's victory bumped their record up to 15-18-2. As for Burkburnett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Lake Worth and Burkburnett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bullfrogs will face off against Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (754 vs. 59). Meanwhile, Burkburnett (ranked 697th) will meet Springtown (ranked 64th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
