Baseball Recap: Tulia Has No Trouble Against Tahoka

Tulia won against Sudan last Monday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Tulia Hornets were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Tahoka Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Tulia let Jarvis Pestrana and Zach Trevino run wild. Pestrana scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Trevino scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Pestrana has become a key player for Tulia: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of David Abeyta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Tulia's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Tahoka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coincidentally, Tulia and Tahoka will both be playing Sundown the next time they take the field. Tulia will head out to face Sundown at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Tahoka will host them at 11:00 a.m. on March 8th.
