Football Recap: Conemaugh Township Indians vs. Meyersdale Red Raiders
Conemaugh Township and Meyersdale squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Conemaugh Township had to settle for second. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Raiders. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Despite the loss, Conemaugh Township saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Greyson Studer rushed for 89 yards and one TD, and also threw for 129 yards and one touchdown.
Meyersdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Sines, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 107 yards. Sines also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defending one pass. Another back making a difference was Spencer Whitfield, who gained 62 total yards and two touchdowns.
