Football Recap: Burlingame Comes Up Short

Burlingame was the 60-30 winner over Rural Vista [Hope/White City] when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bearcats had to suffer through a 44-15 loss at the hands of the Heat. The Bearcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.

Kole Riedy had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 187 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 30 receiving yards for Rural Vista [Hope/White City]. Riedy is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 133 every time he's taken the field this season. Koden Sanford was in the mix as well, providing Rural Vista [Hope/White City] with two touchdowns.

Burlingame's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Rural Vista [Hope/White City], the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Burlingame will face off against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rural Vista [Hope/White City], they will challenge Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Heat are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
