Basketball Recap: Carlisle County Comes Up Short

The Carlisle County Comets came up short against the Lawrenceville Indians on Saturday, falling 50-30.

Despite the defeat, Carlisle County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brennan O'Neill posted nine points. What's more, O'Neill also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Dax Garrett, who had six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrenceville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Wilson, who put up 14 points and six rebounds. Zander Cessna was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points.

Carlisle County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lawrenceville, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Carlisle County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-47 defeat against Marshall County on the 10th. Lawrenceville has also already played their next contest, a 68-60 loss against South Knox on the 10th.
