Baseball Recap: Walker Extends Winning Streak to Five

Walker came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Dominion Christian Knights get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Wolverines have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Zachary Munafo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of David Griggs, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Walker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Walker's record is now 16-9. As for Dominion Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walker will challenge New Manchester at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguar have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Dominion Christian, they will take on Gatewood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
