Softball Recap: Mooresville Find Success

Mooresville's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Westfield Shamrocks by a score of 7-4. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won three in a row.

Reagan Bauer was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Avery Owens was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mooresville's record now sits at 16-8. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mooresville will take on Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
