Basketball Recap: East Henderson Takes a Loss

If East Henderson was riding high fresh off their 50-26 takedown of Brevard last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Henderson Eagles fell 62-51 to the Franklin Panthers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 54-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

When it comes to explaining why East Henderson lost, don't look at Kaylee Foushee. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Foushee has become a key player for East Henderson: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mamie Hill, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, East Henderson was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

East Henderson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Franklin, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

East Henderson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-44 win against West Henderson on the 17th. As for Franklin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-29 victory against Tuscola on the 17th.
