Volleyball Recap: Gilpin County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gilpin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Estes Park Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Gilpin County lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 14-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Gilpin County still got an impressive performance from Jennifer Rodriguez-Jimenez, who had 31 digs.

Jade Ertl was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 20 digs.

Gilpin County's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Estes Park, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Looking ahead, Gilpin County will be taking part in a tournament against Eagle Ridge Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Estes Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
