Basketball Recap: Vincent Memorial Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Vincent Memorial had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through an 89-28 loss at the hands of the Montgomery Aztecs. The loss continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Aztecs: they've now lost five in a row.

DK Montgomery had an outrageously good game for Montgomery as he shot 68% from the field to rack up 40 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Montgomery a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xavier Guerrero, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Looking ahead, Vincent Memorial is taking a road trip to face off against Hoover at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Mission Bay at 6:00 p.m.
