Basketball Recap: Alexander Gets the Win

Alexander lost to Cherokee back in November of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Cougars snuck past the Warriors with a 59-54 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Alexander had a senior duo take command as Torian Greene went 6-for-11 to rack up 21 points and Jayden Crawford posted 13 points and six boards. Greene is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cam Jackson, who put up four points and eight rebounds.

Alexander has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Cherokee, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Alexander will take on Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherokee, they will challenge Milton at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
