Baseball Game Preview: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves

The Verdugo Hills Dons will take on the Flintridge Prep Wolves in a tournament on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Verdugo Hills is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marshall on Friday.

Anthony Velasquez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 9-1 to San Marino.

Will Grable was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
