Football Recap: Eastside Tigers vs. West Deptford Eagles
Eastside and West Deptford squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Eastside had to settle for second. They took a hard 30-15 fall against the Eagles. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Zamir Davis and Cole Paskiewicz. Davis rushed for 117 yards and three TDs while Paskiewicz rushed for 96 yards and one score. That's the most rushing touchdowns Davis has posted since back in September.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Deptford, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.
Eastside will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Camden at 11:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for West Deptford, they will challenge Delran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 9.2, the Bears 7.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
