Softball Recap: Union Mine Comes Up Short

Union Mine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Argonaut Mustangs, falling 15-3. The Diamondbacks were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Union Mine saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Henkel, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Henkel a new career-high. Bella Sebastian also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Union Mine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Argonaut, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Union Mine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Bradshaw Christian on the 25th. As for Argonaut, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Liberty Ranch on the 25th.
