WF West entered their tilt with Shelton on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Highclimbers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-1 win last Monday.

Taylor Tobin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, WF West's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kenley Fragner, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

WF West's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Shelton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season.
