Recap: Tug Valley Panthers vs. WestSide Renegades
The Tug Valley Panthers suffered their biggest defeat since December 22, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 49-21 loss at the hands of WestSide. Tug Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured seven losses in a row.
Despite the loss, Tug Valley had strong showings from Bailee Hall, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Brooke Spaulding, who scored no points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tug Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Tug Valley dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for WestSide, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tug Valley will take on Man at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Man is ranked 114th, while Tug Valley is ranked 92nd). As for WestSide, they will be playing at home against River View at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. River View will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
