Basketball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner lost against Collinsville back in November of 2014 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Sumner Bulldogs were dealt a 73-29 loss at the hands of the Collinsville Kahoks. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Collinsville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Stanley Carnahan out in front who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Carnahan a new career-high in points. Jace Wilkinson was another key player, going 7 of 17 en route to 18 points and five rebounds.

Sumner has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Collinsville, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Sumner has already played their next contest (against Belleville West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Collinsville will face off against McCluer at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville is facing McCluer at the right time seeing as McCluer is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
