Football Recap: Waskom Piles Up the Points Against Union Grove + How To Watch

Waskom extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 3-1. They breezed past the Union Grove Lions to the tune of 54-21. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 26-point advantage.

Chris Hernandez had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 148 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 59 yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.5 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Waskom was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Grove only rushed for 143 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Union Grove fell to 3-1. The loss was their first of the season.

Brycen Porter and Carter Cooper certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Porter threw for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, while Cooper picked up 25 receiving yards and two scores.
