Softball Game Preview: St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots vs. Encinal Jets

The St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots will take on the Encinal Jets at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. Joseph Notre Dame's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Joseph Notre Dame's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against The Bay School as St. Joseph Notre Dame made off with a 15-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Pilots have won by exactly 15 runs.

Cassandra Sanchez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Alana Sadie was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lexi Roben, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Encinal came up short against Acalanes on Tuesday, falling 13-2.

Encinal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Tran, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

St. Joseph Notre Dame's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
