Recap: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Ripon Indians
The Hilmar Yellowjackets were the 41-39 winner over the Ripon Indians when they last played one another on January 4th, but their luck changed this time around. Hilmar took a hard 41-26 fall against Ripon on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hilmar has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Hilmar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Camryn Mattos. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three steals. Mattos hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Emma Gomes was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Hilmar are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10. As for Ripon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Hilmar will be playing at home against Hughson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hughson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Ripon, they will head out on the road to take on Riverbank at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverbank presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ripon in California (Riverbank is ranked 180th, while Ripon is ranked 798th).
