Basketball Game Preview: William Penn Bearcats vs. Wilson Bulldogs

The William Penn Bearcats will head out to take on the Wilson Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. William Penn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Wilson likes a good challenge.

William Penn is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Friday. They lost 81-58 to Central York. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, William Penn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nasir Barnes posted 19 points. The contest was Barnes' sixth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashard Miller, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Wilson faced Chambersburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Wilson fell just short of Chambersburg by a score of 41-39.

Wilson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 20-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two points. As for William Penn, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.
