Basketball Game Preview: North Wilkes Vikings vs. Davie County War Eagles

The North Wilkes Vikings will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Davie County War Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

North Wilkes will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Surry Central, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings walked away with a 60-50 victory over the Golden Eagles on Friday.

Meanwhile, Davie County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Alexander Central 94-75.

North Wilkes better focus on containing Noah Dulin and Ethan Driver as the pair were huge in Davie County's win. Dulin shot 53% from the field en route to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Driver dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. The game was Dulin's third in a row with at least 16 points. Draeton Nance was another key player, putting up ten points and seven assists.

Davie County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Davie County's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Wilkes, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
