Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Gravette's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Gravette unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 21-16 to the Elkins Elks. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Elks from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Even if they lost, Gravette's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Payton Burnett was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14.

Gravette's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Elkins, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
