Football Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

Carrollton was the 45-0 winner over Valley Lutheran when they last played one another back in August of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Cavaliers were dealt a 49-6 defeat at the hands of the Chargers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Chargers are ranked 92nd).

Eli Simons threw for 68 yards while completing 90% of his passes.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Valley Lutheran, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Carrollton is taking a road trip to take on Pinckney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Valley Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tawas Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
