Softball Recap: Tensas Academy's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Tensas Academy had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-1 to make it five. They lost 8-0 to the Briarfield Academy Rebels. The loss put an end to the Chiefs' undefeated start to the season.

As for Briarfield Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.

For Briarfield Academy's part, the result came thanks to Gracie Forman's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. Forman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Avery Robian was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Gracen Thornton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Briarfield Academy beat Tensas Academy by a score of 14-0 on Tuesday.
