Orem extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Orem Tigers vs. Spanish Fork Dons

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 15 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Orem Tigers proved on Friday. They put the hurt on Spanish Fork with a sharp 70-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Orem.

It was another big night for Jax Allen, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Hiatt, who scored 14 points.

Despite the defeat, Spanish Fork saw an underclassman step up: Gage Christensen scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Jacobson, who scored four points.

Orem's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. As for Spanish Fork, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orem will challenge Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 234 points over their last four games. As for Spanish Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Springville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spanish Fork in Utah (Springville is ranked 32nd, while Spanish Fork is ranked 88th).
