Soccer Game Preview: Jonathan Alder vs. St. Francis DeSales

The Jonathan Alder Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Jonathan Alder and Buckeye Valley, and Buckeye Valley kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barons on Saturday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Francis DeSales). They never let West get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering St. Francis DeSales' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while West are ranked 512th).

Jonathan Alder's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-4. As for St. Francis DeSales, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-4.

Jonathan Alder suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to St. Francis DeSales in their previous meeting back in September of 2016. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
