Baseball Recap: John Jay Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

John Jay barely beat Suffern the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mounties a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Fans of the Patriots have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Landon Seipp tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Jendras, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Driscoll, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

John Jay's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Suffern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

John Jay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mounties: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
